AF-P Series

Polishing Alumina

Calcined alumina grades engineered for precision polishing — from heavy stock removal to mirror finishing

AF-P polishing aluminas are calcined alumina powders with precisely controlled alpha-Al₂O₃ content, primary crystal size, and particle size distribution. Each grade is designed for a specific stage of the polishing process: stock removal (cut) followed by smoothing (buffing/lapping). During polishing, alumina agglomerates break down into primary crystals that deliver consistent cutting action, then continue as fine smoothing agents. The balance of cut and polish is tuned by calcination degree, primary crystal size, and agglomerate strength.

Key Features

  • Controlled alpha-Al₂O₃ content for tuned cut/polish balance
  • Well-defined top cut and stable particle size distribution
  • Grades from D50 3 μm (mirror finish) to 65 μm (heavy stock removal)
  • Consistent batch-to-batch quality, contamination-free
