AF-R Series

Reactive Alumina

Ultra-fine, high-surface-area alumina for advanced ceramics and refractories

AF-R reactive aluminas are engineered with high specific surface area (BET) and controlled primary crystallite size. Monomodal and bimodal grades provide optimal particle packing, enabling high green density and low sintering temperature. Doped variants with MgO are available for spinel-forming applications.

Key Features

  • BET from 1.5 to 8 m²/g for controlled reactivity
  • Monomodal and bimodal size distributions available
  • Sintering temperature as low as 1550°C with MgO doping
  • Green density up to 2.70 g/cm³ at 100 MPa

Technical Specifications

* Sintered density measured at 100 MPa with 0.1% MgO, 1750°C. Green density: 2.37–2.40 g/cm³.
